Tour Description and Highlights:

The Coliseum & Roman Forum

Kick off your tour at the huge amphitheatre that is The Coliseum, where fights between gladiators and beasts took placefor the pleasureof bloodthirsty Roman Emperors. Then, move to the Roman Forum – the ancient square that served as the city’s main marketplace, and continues to welcome traders to this very day.

The Palatine

According to ancient legend, Romulus founded Rome on this hill in 753 B.C. Following his actions, the Emperors built their opulent homes for the rest of civilisation to enjoy. As you traverse the area, you are walking inthe same footsteps of Roman Emperors who lived more than 2,000 years before you, bringing more than two millennia of history to life.

St. Peter’s Square& Castel Sant’Angelo

Now starts the driving tour, first taking in the impressive St. Peter’s Square where guests can marvel at the immense curved colonnades that extend towards the Pope’s balcony. Now, you will pass by the Castel Sant’Angelo – the first-century mausoleum built in honour of Emperor Hadrian and then used by Popes as both a fortress and a prison, but now only taking stage as a museum.

Piazza Navone

Continue to the Piazza Navone, one of the largest squares in all of Rome. The space is incredibly popular among tourists for one primary reason: Bernini’s “Fountain of the Four Rivers.” Built to represent The Nile, The Ganges, The Danube and Rio de la Plata, the structure now sits amidst the artists who arrive to peddle their wares on a daily basis.

The Pantheon
The next masterpiece to admire on your tour of Rome: The Pantheon. Immaculately preserved and seemingly just a few centuries old, it is difficult to believe that the structure was finished in AD 128 by Emperor Hadrian. In the square in front – a gathering place for locals – discover a decorative 16thcentury fountain sitting beneath the Egyptian obelisk.

Trevi Fountain & The Spanish Steps
Home to Fellini’s inimitable “La Dolce Vita”, the Trevi Fountain is an iconic setting that many visitors seek out if only to toss a coin into its waters to ensure their safe return to Rome. To round off your magical day, proceed to the Spanish Steps and admire the Church of Trinitàdei Monti, which sits at the top of a famous stairwell with the Fontana Della Barcaccia at its foot.
